Park Bom has dreamed of becoming a singer since her childhood days. She saw singer BoA's Performance and thought in confidence "I think I can sing well". Seeing BoA recognized throughout Asia, Bom strongly thought "I want to be a singer like that."

Park Bom, a former international student, met strong opposition to that announcement from her parents, but she didn't budge. It was because of her desire for her dream. Since joining YG, her parents recognized her and supported her. Was it because of her talent? It didn’t take long for her dreams to come true. Park Bom stood as a world-class act beyond asia as a member of 2NE1.

Returning as a solo singer, Park Bom showed her unchanging voice and singing ability. When asked what her favorite Phrase from DoReMiFaSol is, she sang the chorus for me. I told her that her voice is her fingerprint, the tone we loved then and now.

Park Bom, who's reminiscent of a Barbie Doll, made gestures as if she was dancing in colorful costumes. Sometimes she giggles, sometimes she's quite serious. And she told her story honestly.

Q. Congrats on your comeback. How have you been?

Bom: I worked hard on it. I was on a diet and busy preparing for other songs.

Q. You've made a comeback with Kush's song, which you've been working on for quite a while. How did you find this song?

Bom: Kush is such a great senior and he's a good songwriter. As soon as I heard the song, I called him to ask for it. I felt like it was a perfect fit, and thankfully, he gave it to me. It's a great song, so I hope alot of people enjoy it.

Q. In what way did you think it fit well?

Bom: The song is easy to listen to. And I think it's a song that would appeal to the public.

Q. You've been preparing for an (Mini) -Album?

Bom: Yes, there are a lot of songs that I received and recorded here and there. I'll have to listen to them again and re-record them, but there's a ballad and an R&B song. And I will also show you a variety of other genres. Please look forward to it.

Q. Your voice. I think there's something irreplaceable. How do you see yourself?

Bom: I'm actually not sure. I just want to thank you for liking it. I just sing, but I feel like I have alot of regrets. I think that's why alot of people liked my voice. I feel like i'm lucky. My voice is my number one treasure.

Q. Would you like to try writing lyrics?

Bom: First of all, I think we should dance and sing well on stage. That's the most important part for me. I want to do music properly, and I expect perfection from myself. I'm eventually going to write and compose, but I can do that later. I'll prepare myself for that.

Q. You seem to meet the 2NE1 members often?

Bom: Yes, I'm trying to. Everyone is busy with their own lifes. I'm happy that the members are working hard and doing well. We've met recently. When we meet, we take pics, eat. Our leader, CL, calls us often and tries to set up meetings.

Q. Many people look forward to seeing 2NE1 together again, even if it's not a reunion.

Bom: We talk about that alot when we meet up. But it's still a secret. There's definitly a secret.. haha.

Q. Favorite 2NE1 song?

Bom: I Am The Best. There are many songs, but I like that one the best. I think I was the most excited performing this song.

Q. Happiest moment in life?

Bom: I think it was when 2NE1 won the grand prize. And the happiness I felt then, is what I am feeling now on stage. In the past, I used to be very nervous on stage and fixated myself to the choreo but I can just enjoy performing now. 

Q. That's right. I felt your energy while watching Queendom.

Bom: it was fun. I liked to improvise on stage, given unexpected situations. When I saw my juniors, I felt that they were very passionate. They all work so hard.

Q. I guess you felt alot as a singer. Were there any Juniors that caught your eye?

Bom: Oh My Girl's Hyojung.

Q. What do you think are your charms other than music?

Bom: Personality. Well, variety? I hear that alot. I think I have many different personalities.

Q. What's your favorite part about your appearance and what dont you like?

Bom: I like my eyes. What I don't like? No. I wouldn't tell you that, because I love myself.

Q. What do you do to relieve your stress?

Bom: crying or singing. I think it's between these two. Oh! I also eat Ice cream. Vanilla flavor, please!

Q. If you were to go to an Island, what would you take?

Bom: My cellphone, favorite food and... Watermelon? And my boyfriend. But I dont one.

Q. What's your ideal type?

Bom: Someone who is passionate about his work and is good at it. I like people full of charms. Oh, and someone taller than me. Appearance doesn't really matter but someone handsome would be the icing on the cake, right?

Q. Have you ever thought about marriage and children?

Bom: That's something I never thought about. If I have a good man, I want to get married. Children? If he has a chance, hahaha!

Q. Is there an artist you want to collaborate with? I'm curious about the music you listen to.

Bom: Ariana Grande. Of course, I want to collaborate. My playlist goes straight to her. When I'm hooked on something, I listen to that on repeat.

Q. Ariana Grande? So you want to work in the US?

Bom: I want to. I saw the atmosphere as a singer there with 2NE1, in the US. It was really nice. I think it would be good to do music activities freely in the US. I feel like alot of good things would happen to me. I think I would be able to focus on the music, so I hope I get the chance to do so. To work there, I would need to find the right music first though.

Q. What's your dream as a singer? Where are you in 5 years?

Bom: I want to win a Grammy. After that, I want to train my juniors as a Producer. That's what I've been thinking for a long time. I'll think about the details once I have my Grammy.
